Modus Operendus of the  Kingdom of Heaven Parable of the Sower   The first parable of Jesus recorded in the Gospels is the Parable of the Sower. This parable is found in Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, and Luke 8:4-15. In this parable, Jesus describes a farmer who sows seeds . The seeds fall on four different types of soil: Path: Birds quickly eat the seeds. Rocky Ground: The seeds sprout quickly but wither because they lack deep roots. Thorns: The seeds grow but are choked by thorns. Good Soil: The seeds grow and produce a bountiful harvest. Meaning Jesus explains that the seeds represent the Word of God , and the different soils represent the hearts of those who hear it: Path: Represents those who hear the message but do not understand it, and the evil one snatches it away.
